Paperbox Studio is committed to protecting your privacy. This statement (the “Privacy Policy”) describes our policies and practices for handling information from the Paperbox Studio mobile application (the “Application”) and information we collect when you visit stores and other locations using our Paperbox Studio Guest Experience (collectively, “the Services”).

 

 

 
1. Collection Of Information

We collect the following types of information when you download or use the Services (including when the Application is running on your device in the background or you visit locations using our Services):

Information you provide to us directly. For certain activities, including when you register, visit locations using our Services, or contact us directly, you may provide some or all of the following types of information to us:

  • Contact information, such as full name, email address, mobile phone number, and address;

  • Consistent with your mobile device or app permissions, geolocation information;

  • Demographic information, such as date of birth and gender; and

  • Correspondence you send to us.

Information we collect through your use of the Services. When you use the Services or visit locations using the Services, we collect your device type, device and advertising identifiers, the date and time of your visit, information about your activity within the Application and the relevant store, and other standard log information.We do not collect biometric identifiers, but we do collect information about certain body features. We also collect information about your movements through the stores and other locations using the Services and the items you select, in order to facilitate your shopping and checkout experience and provide aggregate reports and other information to our business customers as explained more in the Disclosure of Information section.We also may receive error-reporting information in the event of a technical error, including the device type and version, device identifiers, the time the error occurred, the feature being used, the state of the Services when the error occurred, and any communications or content provided at the time the error occurred.

We may use local storage and similar technologies to automatically collect this information.By using the Application, you consent to our use of local storage and similar technologies.

Information we obtain from other sources. We may receive information about you from other sources, including through third-party services or providers.For example, if you access third-party services, such as Facebook, Google, or Twitter, through the Application to login to the Application or to share information about your experience with the Services with others, we may collect information from these third-party services.

The Services use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (Google). Google Analytics uses cookies, i.e. text files stored on your computer to enable analysis of Services usage by you. Information generated by the cookie about your use of the Services is usually transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there. On behalf of [sc], Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the Services, compile reports about Services activities, and provide [sc] with further services related to website and Internet usage. The IP address sent from your device as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other data by Google. You can prevent storage of cookies by appropriately setting your software settings; in this case, however, please note that you might not be able to fully use all functions offered by the Services. By using the Services, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.With your consent, we also may access payment information that is stored on your phone through Google Wallet, Apple Pay, or similar services in order to complete your transactions.

2. Use Of Information

We tokenize any payment information you submit to us. Following that, we delete your submission. We use the tokenized payment information, and the payment information from other applications to which you have given us access, only as necessary to complete a particular transaction or as otherwise required by law.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Services to you and our customers (including the stores and other locations you visit that use our Services) and complete your transactions;

  • Analyze and improve the Services and develop new features, products, and services;

  • Prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities and otherwise in accordance with our Terms of Service; and

  • For any other purposes disclosed to you at the time we collect your information or pursuant to your consent.

To protect your privacy, we do not use cloud services in storing your data.

3. Disclosure Of Information

We are committed to maintaining your trust, and we want you to understand when and with whom we may share the information we collect.

  • Authorized service providers. We share your information with service providers that help us operate or support the Services, including business analytics, error-reporting, marketing, and data storage and processing.

  • Our business customers .We provide stores and our other business customers with aggregate reports and other information so they can better understand their shoppers, improve the shopping experience, and reduce fraud, theft, and other unlawful activities. We contractually require these business customers to use your information in a manner consistent with applicable law or otherwise consistent with the permissions you provide directly to them.

  • Business transfers. We may share your information in connection with a substantial corporate transaction, such as the sale of all or a part of our Services, a merger, consolidation, asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy.

  • Legal purposes. We may disclose information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, law enforcement requests, legal claims or government inquiries, and to protect and defend the rights, interests, safety, and security of Paperbox Studio, our business customers, other users, or the public.

  • With your consent. We may share information for any other purposes disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or pursuant to your consent.

If you access third-party services through the Application, including a mobile platform for in-app purchases or social media services (such as Facebook or Google) to login to the Application or to share information about your experience with the Services with others, these third-party services may be able to collect information about you and they may notify your connections on the third-party services about your use of the Services, in accordance with their own privacy policies.We do not control the privacy practices of these third parties, and you should review their privacy policies carefully.

4. Security

We use reasonable measures to help protect information from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. No data storage system or transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100 percent secure.Please note that information collected by third parties may not have the same security protections as information you submit to us, and we are not responsible for protecting the security of such information.

5. Your Choices

You can control our collection and use of your information, including your location information and advertising identifiers, through your mobile device or app settings.You also may stop further data collection through the Application by uninstalling the Application from your mobile device.

6. Third-party Advertising And Do-not-track

We allow third parties, including business partners, advertising networks, and other advertising service providers, to collect your geolocation information and other information through local storage, software development kits, application programming interfaces, and other technologies. These third parties may use this information to deliver advertisements in the Application and elsewhere tailored to your interests, preferences, and characteristics.You may be able to opt out of this interest-based advertising through your device settings or mobile app permissions.

Do-Not-Track Signals and Similar Mechanisms. Some mobile web browsers transmit "do-not-track" signals. We currently do not take action in response to these signals.

7. International Users

The Services are designed for and targeted to U.S. audiences and are governed by and operated in accordance with the laws of the U.S. We make no representation that the Services are operated in accordance with the laws or regulations of any other nations.By using the Services and providing us with information, you understand and agree that your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your resident jurisdiction in countries that may not provide the same level of data privacy protection as your home country.If you are a resident of a country other than the United States, you consent to the transfer of such data to the United States for processing by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

8. Changes To The Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update the Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Effective Date” date above and post the new Privacy Policy. We recommend that you review the Privacy Policy each time you use the Services to stay informed of our privacy practices.
